The supercharged eight-valve four-cylinder 1.2 TSI was first used on the Yeti. The Fabia range now offers it with output of 63 kW and 77 kW. The new TSI achieves lower fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, better acceleration, and a higher top speed than the original atmospheric engines. For both output versions there is a five-speed manual MQ 200 transmission system available, and for the 1.2 TSI / 77 kW engine a seven-speed automatic DSG transmission system can be ordered.

A complete renewed range of diesel engines comprises small volume engines 1.2 TDI CR DPF/55 kW, 1.6 TDI CR/55 kW and 1,6 TDI CR DPF with output of 66 kW and 77 kW. The new engines are offered with a solid particle filter and meet EU 5 emission limits. Important technical innovations include high-pressure direct fuel injection using the common-rail system and four-valve technology. This means the new engines are much quieter, smoother and consume less.

Manual five-speed transmissions systems are available for all engines which offer precise and light gear shifts even on short trips. A completely new automatic transmission system is offered for the more powerful engine 1.2 TSI /77 kW. The original six-speed automatic Tiptronic system is now replaced by a seven-speed dual-clutch DSG transmission system known from the Octavia, Yeti and Superb.
